Packing is a pain! Whether it’s for a 2 week holiday, or a 3 month long trip, the same problems always seem to arise.
It’s taking too long.
There’s not enough space.
My book’s folded.
We can all relate to these problems. If only there were ways to avoid these and make packing easier…..
Well, today I’m gonna share 12 tips/hacks that will help you and make packing so much more straightforward and less time consuming!
1. Roll your clothes
Yes, rolling your clothes instead of folding them will save more space in your bag. You’ll actually be surprised how much this one will help!
2. Keep dirty shoes away from clothes
For this one, you can take your pair of shoes and wrap them in a shower cap. If you don’t happen to have one of these, try pulling a sock over the shoe. This works as well.
3. Make the most out of your shoes
By this, I mean stuff socks – and anything else that will fit – inside your shoes. This will free up a ton of extra space for you!
4. Fold your underwear
Maybe you’re like me. When I pack, I just tend to stuff my underwear in. But, again, you’ll be surprised at the amount of space that will be freed up as a result of doing this!
5. Take care of your breakables
To look after all of your fragile possessions as they make their long, hard journey stuff them inside socks to protect them.
6. Wear your bulkiest clothes
If you’re struggling to fit those last few items into your bag, take out your bulkiest clothes and wear them on the flight. If that’s going to be too warm for you, even wearing just your bulkiest shoes will make a difference,
7. Put heaviest stuff at the bottom
Putting your heaviest stuff at the bottom of your bag will minimize the amount of wrinkles your clothes get in them.
8. Keep belts in collars
Keeping belts in shirt collars will help retain their shape. A must for all you business people.
9. Hold books together with a rubber band
Putting a rubber band around your books will keep them together and stop them from getting creased and folded at the bottom of your bag.
10. Use a clothes peg to prevent your earphones from tangling
We’ve all been there right? Spending about an hour trying to untangle your earphones before you realise you’re going to miss your flight! Well this trick will save you!
11. Keep your chargers in a glasses case
You can put your earphones in hear too. This one’s great because it means you won’t spend ages looking through your bag for them when you need them!
12. Mini toiletries
Using mini toiletries is a great one for saving space. You can do this with other things like make up too if you’re wanting to be extra efficient!
13. Stop spillages
Nothing is worse than when something bursts or leaks in your bag and ruins all your stuff. To prevent this, wrap all bottle caps/lids in cling film. This way, if they do leak or spill, the rest of your stuff is safe!
